Megyn Kelly may have surprised NBC audiences with her first big guest, Russian President Vladimir Putin, but her Father’s Day episode brings someone far more reviled — InfoWars host Alex Jones.

The conspiracy theorist may not be a household name yet, but he has hundreds of thousands of followers who hang on every lying, sensationalistic word.

He’s the main reason your otherwise pleasant uncle starts saying at Thanksgiving dinner that 9/11 was an inside job, Hillary Clinton ran a child sex ring out of a pizzeria, and most disgustingly that the Sandy Hook massacre was faked by Barack Obama with child actors.

So you can see why, when Megyn dropped the preview for her latest interview, people were upset with her for giving the fake news propagator such a big platform.

See what Chelsea Clinton and more had to say (below):

There is no justification for amplifying lies (or a liar), particularly about unimaginable tragedy. I hope no parent, no person watches this
— Chelsea Clinton (@ChelseaClinton) June 12, 2017

THIS is why Megyn Kelly should be ashamed for interviewing Alex Jones – to air on FATHER’S DAY #shameonNBC

Keep on mind this interview is airing on Father’s Day. Imagine the Sandy Hook dads having to see this monster on NBC getting attention

Will you be interviewing the parents of the kids murdered at Sandy Hook or just Alex Jones who called their deaths a hoax?
— andy lassner (@andylassner) June 12, 2017

So NBC hired Megyn Kelly to put the national spotlight on Vladimir Putin and Alex Jones? Good to know.
— Jared Yates Sexton (@JYSexton) June 12, 2017

Between Putin and Alex Jones, it sort of feels like Megyn Kelly is retracing the old propaganda pipeline back to her last employer.
— Ned Resnikoff (@resnikoff) June 12, 2017

Very disappointed in @nbc giving airtime to hideous Alex Jones. Won’t watch, and won’t watch @megynkelly ever for providing him a platform.

In response to all the criticism, Kelly points out that Donald Trump has already legitimized the conspiracy theorist by going on his show and giving him White House credentials, which we agree is really unthinkable (or at least would be with any other president.

She seems to be taking the Bill Maher approach that "sunlight is the best disinfectant" and that showing America who this guy is will hurt him:

POTUS’s been on & praises @RealAlexJones’ show. He’s giving Infowars a WH press credential. Many don’t know him; our job is 2 shine a light.
— Megyn Kelly (@megynkelly) June 12, 2017

"Shine a light" or "give a spotlight"?

Before you decide you may want to know what Jones himself thought of his interview, or more specifically his interviewer. Besides saying she asked about subjects he didn’t want to talk about, Jones told his InfoWars listeners on Thursday that Kelly was "not feminine, cold, robotic, dead."

He also wanted his listeners he "felt zero attraction to Megyn Kelly" which, you know, gross. But that was only because she was "a sociopath, a psychopath, I don’t know."

[Editor’s Note: We listened to two whole disgusting minutes of this asshole’s show to bring you those quotes. Don’t say we never do nothin’ for ya!]

Here’s the preview of the controversial interview, airing next Sunday, June 18:

Next Sunday, I sit down with conservative radio host @RealAlexJones to discuss controversies and conspiracies #SundayNight June 18 on NBC

So what do YOU think, Perezcious readers??
